okay ! so i was thinking about what to do when i finish high school . and i kinda planned it out :) , not sure if i actually want to keep to this plan of mine , depending on weather or not i get into what im trying to do . ha .. who knows ? im doing pretty good at school at the moment , happy with grades, though, english cooooooooould get better , haha im horrid at english ... art, maths, information tech A's , religion & sciences B's... ehhhhhh.

Overview
This double degree program prepares graduates to meet current requirements for a nursing career and also provides the skills to deal with situations where a knowledge of human behaviour would be an advantage eg in a counselling environment. On completion of this program, students have the option to apply for a fourth year program in psychology, in order to gain provisional registration as a psychologist.

NOTE: This course is currently subject to approval by the Queensland Nursing Council.

Overview
The Honours program builds on an undergraduate Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited psychology degree and provides an opportunity for advanced study and research. Successful completion of the Honours program meets the academic requirements for provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychologist Registration Board of Queensland.

Entry requirements
Entry to this course is competitive. To be considered for admission, candidates: - must hold an undergraduate degree accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as an entry point into an honours program (for example QUT's PY45 Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology))
- must have with an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 5
- must have a GPA of at least 5 across APAC accredited second and third year psychology units
- must have successfully completed an APAC accredited third year statistics unit (PYB350 or equivalent). QUT ApplicantsFor applicants with a QUT bachelor's award, the base level requirements for consideration for inclusion in the Honours program will be:

Course Structure
The courses comprises of eight 12 credit point units. Coursework includes the compulsory unit PYB407 Research and Professional Development Seminar; plus elective units, chosen from cognitive neuropsychology, developmental psychology, counselling psychology, or organisational psychology. The research component of the program entails one research methods unit and an individual thesis. PYB400 Thesis is undertaken in modules throughout the program and initially students complete a research plan which sets out the project. This is followed by the collection, analysis and writing-up of the data. All coursework units have 3 contact hours per week. Research thesis units contact is as required by the supervisor. International Student Entry International students may enroll only in full-time studies.

Overview
The Master of Clinical Psychology offers students the opportunity for advanced training in clinical theory, skills and research. These are three skills fundamental to the professional practice of clinical psychology and psychotherapy. The program emphasises an integrative approach drawing upon evidence-based psychotherapies including relational psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, and systemic narrative therapies across the lifespan. A psychology clinic provides practicum opportunities to work with adults, children and families in a real-world learning context. There are opportunities for supervised practica in a variety of counselling and clinical setting including the clinic and external community agencies and health settings.

Career opportunities
The course prepares graduates to work in a wide range of hospital, community and private practice settings, in areas that require clinical and psychotherapy skills, case management, management of health services, needs assessment and program evaluation, health promotion and education, and supervision.

Entry Requirements
Entry to this course is competitive. To be considered for admission, applicants should hold an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)-approved four years training or its equivalent from QUT or another recognised institution. A minimum requirement for eligibility for entry is a grade point average (GPA) of 5 or above in fourth year, and two referee reports. Referees will be required to comment on the academic and personal suitability of the candidate and their overall level of support for the candidate’s application. Applicants are shortlisted in priority order on the basis of their GPAs. Shortlisted applicants are required to attend an interview to assess their interpersonal skills in a clinical context. In the case of international applicants, this is conducted via telephone. Admission is based on the candidate’s GPA, interview and referee reports.

and then im set ! i have my masters and hopefully start or join a private practice or get into a hospital and if it doesn't work out then i always have nursing to fall back on . ahh well , my mind could change tomorow .
